Happy Day Trivia
Happy day trivia generally refers to information that is of little significance, or to facts that are unimportant. Trivia began to spread throughout our society in response to games shows in the early days of tv broadcasting. As these shows gained in popularity the public became more interested in the odd facts these shows thrived on. In 1974 a book titled The Trivia Encyclopedia was published. This was followed in 1981 by another book Super Trivia Vol.2.
It was shortly after this publication that the game Trivial Pursuit was launched. The popularity of this game led to a resurgance of question answer style game shows such as Jeopardy and a new show called Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.
The earliest use of the word trivial probably dates back to medieval times when early universities used the term to describe undergraduate studies of the beginning student.
